Rain Rain...Come again everyday!

I love the rain. It cools everything off...at least until it makes everything humid. It's so calming and relaxing. The perfect weather for reading a book and drinking some coffee. But the reason I most love the rain is because construction workers can't work in the rain. That means they get to come home and waste the day away with their wives. If only it could rain every day...
I love my contruction worker!

My Favorite Spot

This is my very favorite spot in our apartment, and this is my favorite chair. This is the perfect spot to curl up in and read a book, which I have been doing a lot of lately. I love how much light there is with all the windows behind it.

This is what my favorite chair looked like before we recovered it. We got it at a thrift store for $20. But after a little family effort we turned the chair into one of my favorite things in our apartment.

Feeling Crafty

I was feeling kind of crafty today and I wasn't really in the mood to start any new sewing projects, so I decided to fix up a frame I have had for almost two years.

Since our one year anniversary is coming up in August I decided to be nostalgic and put together a little wedding collage.

I got the frame from a thrift store for 39 cents. I painted it white and then dry brushed brown over that. Actually, I couldn't find a single paintbrush in the entire apartment, so I used and old makeup brush that comes in those little compacts of blush. Not exactly ideal but it did the trick. I used some fabric from our wedding quilt (which I will start soon...don't judge me) and stretched it across the back of the frame. I couldn't fit everything I wanted to in the frame, but there is one of our handmade invitations, a picture from the wedding day, John's boutonniere, and an engagement picture.

I like the way it turned out. I even hung it on the wall by myself! I love projects you can do in one day. They are so satisfying!

I should have been an artist

Tatoo artist that is. John and I packed up and headed to Tulsa for the 4th of July. While we were there my mom decided to face paint all the kids. I decided to face paint John.

Every man needs a tatoo of his wife's name on his neck.

He's so hard. Yes...that is a dinosaur.
